On Sunday (Dec. 17) in Indianapolis, Ind., Ashland University's No. 12-ranked wrestling team concluded action at the 44
th Annual Midwest Classic, ending in 17th place.

At 125 pounds, redshirt freshman
Luke Acuna finished in sixth place and with a 4-3 record on the weekend. He lost by pin in in the fifth-place match after winning in the first two consolation rounds on Sunday by 17-2 technical fall and 15-5 major decision.

Graduate 157-pounder
Drew Wiechers also was fifth in his bracket, going 3-3. Wiechers lost in the semifinal and the consolation semi, then medically forfeited the fifth-place match.

At 149 pounds, freshman
Hayden Kuhn was seventh and went 6-2. He won the seventh-place match by medical forfeit.

Sophomore 174-pounder
Nate Barrett was 3-2 on the weekend, while redshirt freshman
Payton Lemon was the same at 197 pounds.

The Eagles finished the weekend with 51.5 team points. Lander won with 126 team points, followed by Parkside (112) and Central Oklahoma (109).
