The 2023-24 home opener for Ashland University's swimming and diving teams took place on Saturday (Nov. 4) afternoon against Oberlin at the Messerly Natatorium.

Ashland's women took a 224-72 decision from the Yeowomen, and the Eagle men took a close 143-141 loss to the Yeomen.

Freshman
Payton O'Toole won three individual events, taking the women's 1,000-yard freestyle (11:13.43), women's 100 free (56.21 seconds), and women's 100 butterfly (1:00.84).

In diving, freshman
Riley Hunt took two wins – in women's 1-meter (199.30 points) and 3-meter (232.55 points), and so did sophomore
Joey Lenczyk – in men's 1-meter (255.15 points) and 3-meter (258.55 points). Senior
Gabby Diehl also won two individual events, the women's 100 backstroke (1:03.47) and women's 200 back (2:21.16), as did sophomore
Paige Nicholson in the women's 100 breaststroke (1:11.31) and women's 200 breaststroke (2:37.09) and freshman
Rachel Stanchek in the women's 200 fly (2:25.75) and the women's 400 individual medley (5:02.63).
