On Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 24-25) in Allendale, Mich., Ashland University's women's tennis team took part in the ITA Regional Championships.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Kortney Reed went 1-1 in the singles B draw, taking a 6-0, 6-4 decision from Saginaw Valley State's Sara Neves before losing in the second round.
- In the singles A draw, freshman Ana Penteado drew praise from Ashland Director of Tennis Operations Tim Dunford for her efforts in a 6-4, 6-1 loss to Michigan Tech's Dominika Bobik.
- Also in singles, sophomore Claudia Adcock (A draw) and freshman Anna Corbel (B draw) each lost their only matches.
- Dunford also singled out Adcock and Corbel for their work in a 9-8 loss to Maryville's Maria Gouveia and Maria Paula Suarez in the doubles A draw.
- Penteado and Reed went 0-1 in the doubles A draw.
- All consolation matches in all draws were canceled due to inclement weather.
