The largest Hall of Fame class in Ashland College/University athletics history will be honored on Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ashland University Hall of Fame Induction and Student-Athlete of the Year recognition in the Faculty Room at the John C. Myers Convocation Center.
Ashland's 2021 class of eight Hall of Famers will be lauded -
Nick Bellanco (football/track and field),
Vickie Schmitz Brake (women's basketball),
Paul Graham (swimming and diving),
Joe Horn (football/track and field),
Kibwe Johnson (track and field),
Jacob Petkac (baseball),
Carrie Ritchie (volleyball), and
Simon West (men's soccer).
In addition, a member of the 2020 Hall class,
Billy Cundiff (football), will be recognized, as well as the 2021 Eagle Forever Award recipients,
Al Honaker and
Dr. Dan Sullivan, and the last two sets of AU Student-Athletes of the Year –
Trevor Bassitt (2020-21 and 2021-22 male),
Rachel Miller (2020-21 female) and
Erin Krupar (2021-22 female).
Brake, Horn, Bassitt, Miller and Krupar all won't be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. Krupar is a fifth-year senior on the Eagle volleyball team and will be away on that day, but will be recognized prior to the home match on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. vs. Malone.
