To begin the 2022-23 season, both of Ashland University's tennis teams competed on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 9-10) at West Virginia Wesleyan's Bobcat Invitational.
Rainy conditions forced an end to the tournament before it could be completed.

WHAT HAPPENED
- On the men's side, before rains stopped play, freshman William Rassat earned his way to the semifinals of the A Flight, sophomore Omar Prince did the same in the D Flight, and freshman Reid Opel did so in the G Flight. Freshman Gabriel Seminario was up a set and up 2-0 in the second set in the quarterfinals before play was halted.
- In the women's half of play, in singles, freshman Ana Penteado got to the semifinals of the A Flight and was up a set in the semis, freshman Anna Corbel got to the semis in the B Flight, and sophomore Claudia Adcock did so in the C Flight.
- Adcock and Corbel earned their way to the finals of the B Flight in doubles play.

Ashland's men will return to the court on Sept. 17-19 at ITA Regionals in Indianapolis, Ind., while the Eagle women will have their turn at ITA Regionals on Sept. 24-26 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
