Former Ashland University track and field standout
Katie Nageotte has earned many accolades in her post-Eagle days as a world-class pole vaulter.

On Wednesday (May 25) afternoon, Nageotte received another significant award, as she was announced as part of the 2022 class of the Division II Athlete Hall of Fame by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Nageotte is the fifth former Eagle track and field athlete to be elected to the D-II Athlete Hall of Fame, all in the last five years, joining
Bryan Vickers (2020),
Adriane Blewitt (2018),
Jackie Jeschelnig (2018) and
Sean Robbins (2017).

In August, Nageotte won Olympic gold for Team USA in the women's pole vault. Most recently, she was the silver medalist in the women's pole vault at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Serbia in March.

Nageotte is the No. 5 all-time women's pole vaulter in the world indoors (4.94 meters/16-feet-2½), and the No. 4 all-time women's pole vaulter in the world outdoors (4.95 meters/16-feet-2¾).

In her two years at Ashland, Nageotte won two Division II national titles and was a three-time D-II All-American.
