Women’s Tennis Blanks Panthers, Climbs Above .500 Mark

Box Score Continuing to pile up wins as the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships approach, Ashland University's women's tennis team topped Kentucky Wesleyan on the road, 7-0, on Saturday (April 9) afternoon.
 
The Eagles, winners of five of the last six matches, are 7-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Panthers are 2-11, 0-5.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • Ashland swept all six singles matches and both doubles matchups.
  • In singles, Eagle wins were collected by senior Gabriella Hudec at No. 1 (6-1, 6-2), sophomore Kortney Reed at No. 2 (6-4, 6-4), senior Huntyr Lake at No. 3 (6-0, 6-2), senior Lydia Bice at No. 4 (6-0, 6-1), and freshmen Alice Adin and Josie Gorges at No. 5 and 6, respectively (forfeits).
  • Doubles wins came from Reed and Lake at No. 1 (6-2), and Hudec and freshman Claudia Adcock at No. 2 (6-1).
 
UP NEXT
Ashland goes outside of league play on Sunday (April 10) at 10:30 a.m. at Southern Indiana (6-6).
