Eagle Softball Starts Florida Trip With Win Over NDC

Box Score To start the annual Florida Spring Break trip on Sunday (March 6) morning, Ashland University's softball team improved to 3-1 on the young season with an 11-6 win over Notre Dame College (0-5).
 
The Eagles have scored double-digit runs in consecutive games for the first time since a doubleheader against Ferris State on April 17, 2018.
 
Ashland's second game of the day against Central Missouri was canceled due to lack of umpires.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • All of Ashland's runs were scored in the bottom of the first (five) and third (six) innings.
  • The Eagles' top hitters in the victory were sophomore catcher Jordyn Severns (1-for-2, double, two runs scored, two RBIs), senior third baseman Alexis Lavdis (1-for-3, double, one run scored, two RBIs), junior left fielder Kaitlyn Carney (1-for-3, home run, three RBIs), and freshman first baseman Lily Rockwell (2-for-3, two doubles, two runs scored, two RBIs).
 
UP NEXT
Ashland is scheduled to play two games in Florida on Monday (March 7) – at 11:15 a.m. against Wheeling (4-3) and 3:45 p.m. vs. Concordia-St. Paul (8-1).
