WHAT HAPPENED
- The difference in Friday's game was a three-run bottom of the fifth inning for Gannon. Ashland scored single runs in the first, third, seventh and ninth innings.
- Senior shortstop Austin Eifrid, senior third baseman Tim Zeller, sophomore designated hitter Nolan Perrin and freshman second baseman Ian Sanders each had two of AU's 12 hits. Zeller, the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, drove in three runs.
- Junior right-hander Josh Meyer took the loss, allowing three hits, four runs and two walks and striking out four. Sophomore righty Clayton Cochran kept Gannon at bay with three hitless innings of relief and three strikeouts.
