The Eagles moved to 4-5 on the young 2022 season following a split of two games in Florida – an 11-1, six-inning win over Salem, and a 1-0 loss to Mercyhurst.

WHAT HAPPENED
- In the win against the Tigers, senior pitcher Hannah Fricke earned her first victory as an Eagle, authoring a one-hitter and allowing one run and four walks. Fricke struck out six.
- Ashland's top hitters against Salem were sophomore catcher Jordyn Severns (2-for-5, two runs scored), junior designated player Lauren McMillin (3-for-5, double, two runs scored, three RBIs), sophomore second baseman Hailey Krinn (2-for-4, run scored), freshman first baseman Lily Rockwell (4-for-5, double, run scored, three RBIs), freshman shortstop Maddy Burdette (2-for-4, run scored, RBI), senior third baseman Alexis Lavdis (2-for-3, run scored), and junior right fielder Haylee Frost (2-for-3, two runs scored, double, RBI).
- The loss against the Lakers saw a scoreless tie through six innings before Mercyhurst plated the only run of the game in the top of the seventh.
- Junior pitcher Josie Duncan took the tough-luck loss, allowing three hits, a run and no walks and striking out one. Duncan retired 10 straight batters in one stretch.
