Ashland University's women's tennis team went to Mason, Ohio, on Sunday (Oct. 9) afternoon and played Ohio Wesleyan at the Linder Family Tennis Center, coming away with a 7-0 victory.
It was the Eagles' first dual match after three previous invitationals/tournaments.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland swept all six singles matches. Freshman Ana Penteado won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, sophomore Claudia Adcock took a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 2, and freshman Anna Corbel was a 6-1, 6-2 winner.
- At No. 4 singles, sophomore Kortney Reed was a 6-1, 6-0 winner; freshman Alley Stoehr took a 6-3, 6-0 decision at No. 5; and sophomore Josie Gorges won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6.
- In doubles, Penteado/Reed was an 8-3 winner at No. 1, and the No. 2 group of Adcock/Corbel and the No. 3 team of Stoehr/Gorges each won 8-1 decisions.
