On the second and final day of the 42
nd Midwest Classic on Sunday (Dec. 19) in Indianapolis, Ind., the No. 8-ranked Ashland University wrestling team finished in 11
th place in the 42-team field.

The Eagles ended the weekend with 61 team points. Central Oklahoma was the team champion with 106.5 points, with the host Greyhounds taking second (97.5) and Adams State (89) placing third.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Five Eagles competed on Day 2 in Indy, and the top finish was turned in by senior 184-pounder Aidan Pasiuk. Pasiuk was 4-0 with a pin and two major decisions on the weekend before taking his first loss of the season in the first-place match, 7-4, to Fort Hays State's Martin Verhaeghe.
- Junior Drew Wiechers was fifth at 165 pounds, taking the fifth-place match by medical forfeit and going 4-2 with a pin and a major decision over the weekend.
- At 174 pounds, junior Daniel Beemer placed sixth, going 3-3 at the Classic with a major decision.
- Sophomore Walker Uhl finished eighth at 197 pounds, and was 3-3 with a pin and a major decision during the Classic.
- Senior 149-pounder Carson Speelman lost in the fourth round of the consolation bracket, and was 4-2 with two major decisions in Indy.

Ashland will be back on the mats in the new year, going to the National Dual Championships in Louisville, Ky., on Jan. 6-7.
