Posey Named Academic All-District For Second Year In A Row

For the second consecutive season, Ashland University junior right tackle Gavin Posey has earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
As announced by CoSIDA on Thursday (Nov. 18) afternoon, Posey earned the honor again in NCAA Division II, District I.
 
A three-year starter for the Eagles at right tackle, Posey also was a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America in 2020-21. He was an anchor for an AU offensive line which led the team to average 30.1 points and 422.1 yards per game this fall.
 
Posey has a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average as an Accounting major.
 
He is Ashland football's fourth two-time Academic All-District choice since 2007, joining Logan Bolin (2019-20), Adam Shaheen (2015-16) and Eric Schwieterman (2013-14).
