Ashland University's No. 13 wrestling team traveled to Davenport on Friday (Feb. 14) night and topped the Panthers, 33-12, in its final dual of the season.
The victory was the seventh straight dual win for the Eagles, as they won every dual after the new year.
Redshirt sophomore Peter Abraham opened the scoring for Ashland with a dominant 8-1 victory in his heavyweight debut against River Fox. Redshirt senior Chandler Minnard won his match, 11-6, at 141. Minnard's win tied the overall score at 12-12, and AU never looked back.
The next five weight classes were a barrage from the Eagles, as they wiped out any hopes Davenport had in the dual. At 149, junior Carson Speelman shut out Joey Orr, 6-0. Junior Cameron Jenkins majored Quinten Lopez, 15-7, at 157 pounds. Redshirt senior Christian Price was rapid on the attack at 165 pounds. Price scored all 16 of his points quickly to earn a 16-0 tech fall at 2:11.
Redshirt senior Bret Romanzak didn't allow Sam Greco to get going as he won with ease, 8-1, at 174 pounds. Junior Aidan Pasiuk and redshirt senior Lawrance Dudgeon both won their matches by forfeit.
The Eagles will compete for the final time in the regular season at the John Carroll Open on Sunday (Feb. 16), starting at 10 a.m.
