Ashland University's wrestling team continued its tear through regional opponents on Saturday (Feb. 1) night, as the Eagles routed Findlay, 26-7.
The Eagles won eight bouts against the Roughnecks. Redshirt senior Lawrance Dudgeon got AU started with a 4-3 win at 133 pounds. Next up was Chandler Minnard, another redshirt senior. Minnard could not be stopped at 141 by Dakota Blanton, as he had his way in a 17-0 tech fall.
Junior Carson Speelman followed up at 149, a winner by 9-5 decision against Devin Rogers. Redshirt freshman Joshua Jaeckin won his match at 157, a 5-3 decision.
Things continued to move in a positive direction for Ashland as the weight classes moved along. Redshirt senior Christian Price continued his strong wrestling in a 6-3 win, and redshirt senior Bret Romanzak battled to a 4-1 victory.
At 184, junior Aidan Pasiuk bested Danny Rosales in an 8-3 win for AU. Junior heavyweight Tristen Weirich edged out Caleb Carpenter, 4-3, as the Eagles rolled on the road.
Ashland's next match will be at Davenport on Friday (Feb. 14) at 7 p.m.
