AU Softball Loses Pair To Continue Florida Trip

Continuing with its annual Florida trip, Ashland University's softball team lost to both Kutztown (7-0) and West Chester (4-1) on Monday (March 7).

In the loss to Kutztown, Ashland had five hits, two each by senior first baseman Jen Moore and senior shortstop Shelbie Prince. Senior Sarah Alley took the loss on the mound, allowing 11 hits, five runs and a walk and striking out two in five innings.

The game against West Chester saw sophomore third baseman Marissa Caraballo get two of AU's four hits. Caraballo had the team's lone RBI, as well. Freshman Hannah Stroe took the loss in the pitcher's circle, allowing eight hits, four runs and three walks while striking out five in the complete game.

Ashland (4-5) will take on Wilmington (5 p.m.) and Edinboro (7 p.m.) in Florida on Tuesday (March 8).
