Softball Splits Opening Games Of Florida Trip

Ashland University's softball team opened its annual Florida trip with a split of Lock Haven (5-3 win) and Bloomsburg (6-4 loss) on Sunday (March 6).

In the Eagles' win, freshman Abbie Sgro came in and got the relief win, allowing no hits and one run in 3 1/3 innings. Senior Jen Moore was 2-for-3 with an RBI, double and triple, and junior Ally Farrah was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.

In the defeat, freshman Katie Mitchell was 2-for-2 with a run scored, a double and a stolen base, senior Shelbie Prince was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Moore was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Eagles (4-3) will play on Monday (March 7) against Kutztown (9 a.m.) and West Chester (11 a.m.).
