The Ashland University baseball team pounded out 19 hits Sunday (Mar. 4) on the way to a 15-6 win over Maryville. The victory gives Ashland a 2-1 record. The game was played in Auburndale, Fla.
Freshman Giancarlo Saia (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI. Sophomore third baseman Tyler Gray (Plain City, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) had a two-run homer. Freshman infielder Kyle Vozar (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina Highland) was 2-for-4 with a double, homer and two RBI. Junior catcher John Broll (Mississagua, Ontario/Genesee C.C.) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Sophomore left-hander Cole Hudson (Dresen, Ohio/Zanesville) was the winning pitcher.
