Kerr is coming off the best year of his career…has been recognized as a preseason All-American by the The Sporting News and Consensus Draft Services.
2010: Kerr was the GLIAC leader in interceptions (eight) and pass breakups (17)…earned second team All-GLIAC honors…before last season, did not have an interception…ended last season with at least one interception in six consecutive games…had a season-high two interceptions against Lake Erie (Nov. 13)…final interception total was two off the school record and was the highest total at Ashland since Toure Carter had nine in 2003…finished fifth on the team in tackles…reached his season high of 10 tackles twice…had 10 stops (seven solo) in the season opener against Bloomsburg (Sept. 4) and recorded 10 tackles (all solo) against Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 23)…had an interception against both the Huskies and Cardinals.
2009: Had a career-high 11 tackles (six solo) in a win over Michigan Tech (Sept. 12)…posted seven stops (three solo) at home against Hillsdale (Sept. 26) and had six tackles (five solo) and two pass breakups against Northwood (Oct. 10)…was the team leader in pass breakups (10) and was fifth on the team in tackles.
2008: As a rookie, Kerr was a regular contributor on special teams and as a reserve defensive back.
High School: Kerr came to the Eagles from the successful Ashland High School program that was a factor on the state level in 2006 and 2007. In football, he was named All-Ohio, all-area, all-district and all-conference…holds the AHS record for career interceptions (16)…also played basketball and was an all-conference and all-district selection…lettered three times in each sport…is the son of Lisa and Chris Kerr.
