2010: Was one of 10 finalists for the Fred Mitchell Award, which is presented to the top kicker in the country regardless of division…was named first team All-GLIAC and second team all-region…set a school single-season mark for kick scoring (96) and tied the school mark for field goals (16)…kicked a career-long 50-yard field goal….at Northern Michigan (Sept. 25), he was 4-for-5 on field goal attempts and averaged 47.5 ypp., on four punts…against Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 23) kicked three field goals (34, 34, 40) and punted three times and averaged 59.3 ypp…was named the GLIAC special teams player of the week twice in 2010 and has won that award four times in his career…was second in the GLIAC in kick scoring and field goals per game (1.45) and third in field goals…was fourth in scoring…Berkshire was 20th in the nation in kick scoring and sixth in field goals per game…took over the punting chores and in his first season as the punter, set a school single-season record for yards per punt (43.5).
2009: Berkshire was second in the GLIAC in kick scoring (81 points/7.4 ppg.) and field goals made per game (1.45), third in field goals made (16) and fourth in scoring, extra point percentage (94.3) and field goal percentage (80 percent)…was 33-of-35 on extra points and 16-of-20 on field goals….the 81 points he scored is the second highest figure in school history. …Berkshire was 7-of-7 from inside 30 yards and in his career, is 15-for-17 inside of 30 yards. His longest field goal was 45 yards and he did that twice, against Ferris State (Sept. 6) and Michigan Tech (Sept. 12)…closed out the season by connecting on his final six field goal attempts…against Indianapolis, he was 4-for-4, splitting the uprights from 27, 19, 38 and 27 yards…was named the GLIAC special teams player of the week (Nov. 9) after he kicked two field goals and was 5-for-5 on extra points in a 41-28 win at Findlay.
2008: Berkshire took over as AU’s starting kicker midway through the season…was 4-for-4 on field goal tries inside of 29 yards and 2-for-2 on attempts from 40-49 yards. …season long of 45 yards came against Ferris State (Sept. 6)…over the final seven games of the season was 6-of-7 on field goal attempts…the rookie had 37 extra points and that was just two conversions shy of the school single-season record (39, Jeff Groza, 1972)…was named the GLIAC special teams player of the week after kicking three field goals and three extra points in a 44-37 win at Indianapolis (Nov. 1).
High School: At Ashland High School Berkshire lettered three times in soccer and once each in football and basketball…in soccer, was the district player of the year and an All-Ohio pick…in football, Berkshire was honorable mention all-state and first team all-district…longest field goal was 47 yards, which tied the school record…was also all-conference and all-district in basketball…played on a football team that advanced to the state Final Four (2007) and on a soccer team that advanced to the Elite Eight (2005)…is the son of Tracy and Marilyn Berkshire.
