Biography

McCoy is one of the most productive backs in school history…enters the 2011 season sixth in career rushing yards at AU…begins his senior season with 11 career 100-yard games…is averaging 5.1 ypc., in his career…should be one of the top backs in the GLIAC and the region and could be a strong contender for All-America laurels.

2010: Secured second team All-GLIAC honors…was fourth in the GLIAC in rushing yards per game (115.6)…rushed for 1,344 yards, the fourth best single-season total in school history…ended the year with eight consecutive 100-yard games…was slowed at the start of the season by a hip injury…rushed for a career-high 275 yards on 25 carries at Findlay (Oct. 30)…ripped off a career-long 74-yard run against the Oilers…rushed for 130 or more yards in a game five times…gained 144 yards on 15 carries (9.6 ypc.) with three touchdowns against Tiffin (Oct. 9)…rushed for 140 yards on 35 attempts against Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 22)…led the Eagles in all-purpose yards per game (141.7)…proved to be an effective receiver out of the backfield as he caught a career-best 25 passes, that tied him for third on the team.  

2009: Finished fifth in the GLIAC in rushing yards per game (83.3)…led AU in rushing and rushing touchdowns…was second on the team in all-purpose yards per game (86.1)…picked up a season-high 179 yards on 15 carries at Tiffin (Sept. 19)…had 112 yards on 19 carries at Ferris State (Sept. 5) and 170 yards on 38 carries at Wayne State (Oct. 3). That carries total is the highest of his career.

2008:  Was the team leader in rushing touchdowns and second in rushing yards…reached his season high for carries and yards in the first-round NCAA playoff game against Minnesota State (Nov. 15) when he picked up 93 yards on 25 carries…during the regular season rushed for 83 yards on 18 carries with two touchdowns at top-ranked Grand Valley State (Oct. 25)…in the final game of the regular season, rushed for 88 yards on 17 trips at Findlay (Nov. 8).

High School:  Was named first team All-Senate Athletic League as a junior and senior…was the league’s most valuable player his senior year…is the son of Tanya Gardner.
