Biography

2011: Housewright's 61.4 percent season completion percentage is the fourth highest in school history...Housewright's 156 completions is the seventh highest single-season mark in school history...in the final game of the season at Lake Erie (Nov. 12) Housewright threw for a career-high 330 yards...in the game against the Storm he completed 23-of-37 passes with four touchdown passes, that completion figure is one shy of his career high...the week before (Nov. 5) against Ohio Dominican, he was on target with 22-of-31 throws for 199 yards...Housewright had three games of 20+ completions and over the last five weeks of the season he was intercepted just once...Housewright threw for 258 yards on nine completions at Tiffin (Oct. 8), that yardage total was his second highest of the season...at home against Indianapolis (Sept. 10), Housewright completed 19-of-32 passes for 170 yards and rushed for a season-high 62 yards on 19 carries...the quarterback was fifth on the team in rushing with 122 yards...Housewright was named honorable mention All-GLIAC...the AU quarterback was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team as a sports management major...Housewright enters the 2012 season second in career TD passes at AU.  He's third in career completions and fifth in career pass attempts and career passing yardage.

2010: Housewright completed 67.3 percent of his passes, the second highest season mark in school history…he tied the school, single-game record for touchdown passes (five) at Findlay (Oct. 30)…against the Oilers, he had TD passes of 8, 3, 19, 11 and 4 yards…the quarterback also ran for a 19-yard touchdown against Findlay…he tied the school record for the longest pass completion when he combined with Joe Horn on a 96-yard TD reception against Bloomsburg (Sept. 4) in the first start of his career…his 179 completions is the fourth highest season mark in school history and his 24 scoring passes ties him for second in single-season TD passes…he completed a career-high 24 passes at Indianapolis (Sept. 11)…Housewrigtht threw for a season-best 302 yards in the last game of the season against Lake Erie (Nov. 13)…against the Storm, he completed 21-of-27 passes with four TD passes…he threw 12 touchdown passes over the final three weeks of the season…against Northwood (Oct. 2) Housewright was 20-of-24 for 284 yards and three touchdowns…in the season opener with Bloomsburg (Sept. 4), he completed 16-of-26 passes for 248 yards and two scores and rushed for 65 yards on four carries (16.2 ypc.)…Housewrigtht had 71 rushing yards on 12 carries at Indianapolis (Sept. 11)…he scrambled for a career-high 89 yards on 10 carries against Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 23)…he rushed for 443 yards (5.3 ypc.), which put him second on the team…Housewright was second in the GLIAC in pass efficiency (165.4) and was third in passing yard per game (216.2) and total offense (256.6 ypg.)...a sports management major, he was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team.     

2009: Houswright spent the season as the understudy to record-setting quarterback Billy Cundiff…he played in five games. 

High School: His senior year at Ashland High School Housewright led the Arrows to a 12-2 record and a berth in the state Final Four…that season he completed 269-of-397 passes (67.8 percent) for 3,528 yards and 36 touchdowns and was intercepted just 12 times…he rushed for 818 yards and 14 touchdowns on 190 carries.  Housewright was 29-8 as the starting quarterback at AHS…he left the program owning school records for completions (479), pass attempts (761), passing yards (6,582) and passing touchdowns (67)…he rushed for 1,437 career yards and 21 touchdowns…Housewright was a two-time first team All-Ohio selection (2006, 2007) and as a senior was the Ohio Division II offensive player of the year…he was also the district’s offensive player of the year and the Ohio Cardinal Conference player of the year…Housewright lettered three times in football and four times in basketball.

Personal: The senior is the son of David and Terra Housewright…David Housewright played football at East Tennessee State.
