Following a strong start to 2026, Ashland University's men's cross country team is in the No. 10 slot in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II regional cross country rankings, released on Tuesday (Sept. 29) afternoon.
The Eagle men have placed second at Wright State, third at the All-Ohio Classic at Cedarville, and second at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Preview Meet at Tiffin.
"I can speak for myself and the both teams, that we are not satisfied yet with where we are ranking and are going to keep pushing to climb the ladder," said Ashland head coach
Jacob Sussman. "Through three meets, we have already seen a ton of improvement with how we approach and handle the tough conditions of cross country, and that will only help us in the long run."
Ashland's men and women will return to competition on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
The Eagles are joined in this week's regional Top 10 by fellow Great Midwest squads Walsh (No. 4), Tiffin (No. 7) and Findlay (No. 8).
2026 ASHLAND UNIVERSITY USTFCCCA MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY REGIONAL RANKINGS: No. 6 (preseason), No. 9 (Sept. 15), No. 10 (Sept. 29).
