Beginning a road/home split Great Midwest Athletic Conference weekend on Friday (Sept. 25) night, the Ashland University volleyball team topped Lake Erie on the road, 3-0 (25-6, 25-21, 25-17) – remaining undefeated in conference play to date.

The Eagles improved to 11-2 overall and 6-0 in the Great Midwest. AU's 13-match start is its best since 2019 (also 11-2), and Friday's victory is Ashland's eighth sweep of the fall.
 
Lake Erie is 5-8, 3-4.
 
With 21 digs on Friday night, senior libero Abbey Queen has 1,326 as an Eagle – 12 away from passing Kaitlin Bean (1,337) for sixth place on the program's all-time list.
 
Junior outside hitter Sara Krizsa paced the offensive attack with 16 kills and a .387 hitting percentage, while the senior setting duo of Kylee Urban (20) and Marin Dixon (14) combined for 34 assists.
 
Another junior, middle blocker Livi Miller, ended with eight total blocks (seven assists).
 
The Eagles kept the Storm to a .009 hitting percentage, marking the fifth time this season an opponent has hit .080 or lower against AU.
 
Ashland has defeated Lake Erie in 11 consecutive meetings.
 
The Eagles will play the first of four consecutive matches at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium on Saturday (Sept. 26) at 1 p.m. vs. Ursuline. It will be AU's Youth Day/Team Poster Signing/Gold Out match.
