No. RV Football To Play Third Straight Home Game, Opening G-MAC Play

Following two 10-point non-conference losses at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field to begin the 2026 season, Ashland University's No. RV football team (0-2) will look to start Great Midwest Athletic Conference play off on the right foot against Ohio Dominican (1-1) at home at 1 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 19).

In Week 2, the Eagles lost at home to now-No. 6 Grand Valley State, 20-10.

"We've got to correct our own mistakes," said Ashland head coach Doug Geiser. "We played two really good football teams, and you give them all the credit in the world. They played at a level that looked Top 10 in the country. With that being said, we didn't give the resistance that we should have. There were a lot of self-inflicted wounds, a lot of mistakes we made, to not give ourselves a chance to compete with them.

"A lot of looking at us, and you kind of go over the whole process and see what our shortcomings are. The only thing I know about doing it is, you work. You work, and get back to who we are discipline-wise, whether that's penalties, whether that's assignments, whether it's execution. We just work through it. When you play good teams, you get exposed. IUP and Grand Valley were able to expose some weaknesses that we have, and you just work for correct them."

The game vs. the Panthers will be the Eagles' third straight at home, and going back to the end of the 2025 campaign, Ashland will have played seven of its last eight games on Broad Street.
