Shutout, Goal In Each Half Lift AU Men Past Millersville

The Ashland University men's soccer team evened its early-season record at 1-1 following a 2-0 win at Millersville on Sunday (Aug. 30) afternoon.

Sunday's contest marked the fifth consecutive season the Eagles and Marauders have faced off, with AU now leading the all-time series at 2-1-2.

Millersville also is 1-1 after the season's first week.

In his first start and action for the Eagles, junior goalkeeper Jaime Duran earned the clean sheet, ending with three saves.

For the first time in the young campaign, Ashland scored first. In the 34th minute, junior defender Daniel Drage scored his first goal as an Eagle, on assists from sophomore forward Tom Woodward, the Eagles' leading scorer in 2025, and sophomore midfielder Juan Daniel Rosales. The point was Rosales' first as an Eagle.

Early in the second half, in the 53rd minute, sophomore forward Hayden Clark potted his first goal of the season. The unassisted tally provided the game's final margin of victory.

Ashland had a 12-9 shots advantage over the Marauders, and each team took three corner kicks.

The Eagles will return to Ferguson Field for their annual bonfire game on Friday (Sept. 4) at 6:30 p.m. vs. No. 11-ranked Gannon (1-1).
