The six student-athletes from Ashland are quarterback Cam Blair (3.63 GPA), punter Jaden Cook (3.43 GPA), offensive lineman Ethan Enders (3.66 GPA), linebacker Zach Heintz (3.89 GPA), wide receiver Akil Martin (3.71 GPA) and defensive end Russell Twining (3.40 GPA).
"Excellence in the classroom is the first requirement of an 'Ashland Man," noted AU head coach Doug Geiser. "Any time that you are recognized by the Hampshire Honor Society of the National Football Foundation it's a big deal. We've been extremely fortunate to have a good number of young men in our program chosen for this program over the last 20 years."
Geiser isn't exaggerating when mentioning Ashland's history with the Hampshire Honor Society. AU is seventh among NCAA Division II institutions in all-time honorees with 67.
The 2026 Hampshire class marks the program's 20th anniversary. The 2026 class includes a record 2,596 student-athletes from 691 schools (FBS, FCS, Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Sprint).
