The Eagles aren't slowing down.
On Saturday, April 11, the Ashland University women's lacrosse team took down the Malone University Pioneers, 17-2, to keep a perfect record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Eagles are now 10-4 overall on the year and 6-0 in conference action.
The Eagles' last loss came on Friday, March 13, with them now up to eight straight.
Ashland jumped out early with six first-quarter goals and never looked back, holding Malone scoreless in the opening period.
The Eagles led 10-1 at halftime and continued to control the pace throughout the second half.
They tacked on three goals in the third quarter and four goals in the fourth quarter, giving up just two in the dying embers of the final frame.
The Eagles controlled possession all game, winning 18 draw controls to Malone's three and outshooting the Pioneers 41-16.
Leading the charge for Ashland was Fisher, who capped off her time on the field with six goals and two assists. Behind her, the Eagles had goals from Ashley Drexler and Rachel Crumbacher, who combined for seven.
Crumbacher also had eight draw controls.
In net, Annie Duncan had one of her best performances of the season, making 11 saves.
With the win, the Eagles now prepare to take on the Northwood Timberwolves at home on Wednesday, April 15. Game time between the two sides is set for 5:00 p.m. EST.
