The Eagles are still undefeated in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
And it's hard to say if they'll ever lose at this rate.
On Wednesday, April 15, the Ashland University women's lacrosse team played host to the Northwood University Timberwolves from Ferguson Field, downing them, 22-4.
From start to finish, the Eagles controlled the matchup.
In the first quarter, they scored 12 goals, with the first goal being scored by Nataley Blackburn just 15 seconds into the outing. They then scored two more in the first minute, with Lily Cain and Rachel Crumbacher netting those.
Leading 12-0 after the opening frame, the Eagles laid off the gas a little bit in the second quarter. They were able to net one goal before a two-hour weather delay slowed the night down.
Returning after a long break, the Eagles picked up where they left off and scored nine total goals in the final 23 minutes or so of action.
Lily Cain led the offense with four goals and two assists, while Nataley Blackburn added three goals. Rachel Crumbacher also had a strong outing with three goals and two assists. Tori Wanat, though, was the primary facilitator of the Eagles' attack with five assists and a goal.
Ashland's depth showed throughout the game, with 11 different players finding the back of the net. The Eagles finished with a 34-13 shot advantage and forced 21 Northwood turnovers.
With the win, the Eagles are now up to a 12-4 overall record and 7-0 mark in conference play.
Up next, Ashland begins preparation for the regular season finale against the University of Findlay Oilers. The two sides will clash from Ferguson Field at 5:00 p.m. EST.
