Box Score It was another comfortable victory for the Ashland University women's lacrosse team.
On Wednesday, March 18, the Eagle lacrosse team traveled north to take on the Lake Erie College Storm from Campus Field in Painesville, Ohio. After taking down the Ursuline College Arrows just days prior in a dominant showing, 21-0, the Eagles marched in with plenty of confidence.
They quickly tallied 11 goals in the first frame, followed by six in the second, all while holding the Storm scoreless. Heading into halftime, they led, 17-0.
In the third quarter, three more goals were scored by Ashland, before a second set of three were put on the board in the final quarter of action.
When the final buzzer sounded, the Eagles had a 23-0 edge, shutting out their second-straight opponent.
Leading the charge for the Eagles was forward Ashley Fisher, who scored four goals and dished out two assists for six total points. All four of her shots were on goal, each finding the back of the net.
Alongside Fisher, the Eagles had five total players with two goals or more, five total players with two assists or more and 17 who recorded a point.
In net, Annie Duncan was rarely tested, but when she was, she kept the sheet clean. She finished the game with one save.
The Eagles, riding a two-game winning streak, will next look to take on the Grand Valley State Lakers on Friday, March 20, in Allendale, Mich.
The two sides will clash at 5:00 p.m. EST for a mid-season non-conference bout.
