Playing at Kates Gymnasium for the first time in 2026 on Sunday (Feb. 8) afternoon, Ashland University's No. 8-ranked STUNT team won a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference games – 21-1 over No. 19 Walsh, then 35-16 against No. 12 Tiffin.
The Eagles are 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the league, have won four games in a row, and set a new single-game program record for points against the Dragons.
"Going 2-0 today in conference play was an excellent start," said Ashland head coach
Denise Farnsworth. "The energy from a packed home crowd made a huge difference, and our girls were able to feed off the excitement of the fans.
"Scoring 35 points against Tiffin really reflects how hard the team has been working."
Junior back/base/tumbler
Makiah Francis paced Ashland in scoring in both games on Sunday – 34 points vs. Walsh, and 52 points against Tiffin.
"
Makiah Francis was a standout today, not only on the mat, but as a leader as well," Farnsworth said. "I am excited to see her excel in the coming weeks."
COMING UP
