For the first time this winter, Ashland University's women's indoor track and field team has cracked the Top 10 of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index.
The first regular-season National Rating Index of the new season was released on Tuesday (Feb. 3) afternoon, and the Eagle women have moved up one spot to No. 10. With a total score of 83.07, the vast majority of those points come from four events in which AU's athletes are in the top four in the nation:
- Junior Molly Winner, weight throw, No. 1 – 21.45 meters/70-feet-4½ – 24.82 points
- Junior Leslie Pollock, weight throw, No. 2 – 20.29 meters/66-feet6¾ – 20.72 points
- Senior Jade Avance, 800-meter run, No. 3 – 2:07.64 – 18.23 points
- Winner, shot put, No. 4 – 16.02 meters/52-feet-6¾ – 15.81 points
This is the first time the Eagle women have been in the top 10 of the National Rating Index since being slotted seventh in Week 7 of 2025.
Ashland's women and men will compete at home in the fifth Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6-7) at the Niss Athletic Center.
