The 2026 spring championship season began on Saturday (Jan. 31) for Ashland University's men's and women's tennis teams in nearby Lexington, Ohio, with the Eagle men topping Daemen 7-0 for Director of Tennis Operations

Ashland's women lost to IUP on Saturday, 6-0.
The Eagle men are 2-3 in 2025-26, and the Eagle women are 0-4.
Ashland's men swept all six singles and all three doubles matches. At singles, junior
Kaj Salzano won at No. 1 (6-2, 6-0), freshman
Eduardo Lima won at No. 2 (7-5, 6-0), junior
Ryohei Miyake took No. 3 (6-1, 6-2), sophomore
Bernardo Duarte won at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), junior
Doug Cree was victorious at No. 5 (6-0, 7-5), and senior
Reid Opel won at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1).
At doubles, Cree/Duarte won 6-4 at No. 1, Opel/Miyake won 6-3 at No. 2, and Lima/Salzano won 6-2 at No. 3.
