One week after topping Thomas More on the road by a 48-10 count, the Ashland University football team earned yet another rout of a Kentucky-based Great Midwest Athletic Conference team – 56-0 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday (Oct. 24) afternoon at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field.
The Eagles improve to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference after dealing the Panthers (0-8, 0-6) their 23
rd straight defeat. AU is 7-0 all-time against KWC.
"I challenged the guys last night and going into today, two Cs. I wanted carryover, and I wanted consistency," said Ashland head coach
Doug Geiser. "Carryover, we had two really good weeks of practice. I wanted them to carry that over to game day.
"And then consistency, could we perform great two weeks in a row? And the guys passed the test on the surface on both of them."
The Eagles' shutout at KWC last season was AU's first in three years, and Saturday's blanking was the first since then.

"That combination's been pretty powerful for us," Geiser said. "More than anything, it's being balanced again. Coy's got a big arm. It's really unlocked the vertical passing the game the last two weeks."
Solomon had half of the Eagles' four interceptions – giving Ashland nine in the last two weeks.
"Morale is very high. They're very, very productive, flying around," said Geiser. "They are fun to watch right now."
