For the second time, Ashland University's women's soccer team has earned the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Team Pinnacle Award.
The USC announced that the Eagle women are among 10 college and 27 high school programs to be recipients of the 2025-26 Team Pinnacle Award. Ashland's women also earned the honor following the 2022-23 academic year.
In its eighth year, the Team Pinnacle Award honors teams that have achieved a high level of fair play, educational excellence, and success on the pitch.
To be considered for the award, teams must have received either the Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the High School or College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award; achieved recognition in the classroom as a recipient of the High School or College Team Academic Award; and recorded a winning percentage of .750 or higher during the respective season.
In 2025, the Eagle women were 14-3-5 overall and 10-0-4 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, winning both the conference's regular-season and tournament titles, and was victorious in the first round of the NCAA postseason. They earned the USC's 2025-26 College Team Academic Award, as their 3.74 team grade-point average ranked as one of the highest in NCAA Division II. In addition, the AU women had just one card drawn (a yellow) throughout the 2025 campaign.
This fall, the No. 15-ranked Ashland women are 9-2-2 overall and 7-1-1 in the Great Midwest. Their next contest is at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 15) at Walsh (6-6, 5-4).
