On Saturday (Sept. 27) night, Ashland University's men's soccer team lost at Kentucky Wesleyan, 2-1, in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest.
The Eagles now are 2-4-1 overall and 1-3 in the league, and the Panthers are 1-3-4, 2-2.
KWC broke the scoreless tie in the 33
rd minute, when Braeden Myers-Curry scored a goal on an assist by Cal Nolan. Kentucky Wesleyan moved to a 2-0 advantage in the 51
st minute on a goal from Mattie McNally, assisted by Ivan Juarez and Nicklas Henriksen.
Ashland avoided a second consecutive road conference shutout in the 55
th minute, when freshman midfielder
Antonio Soto's first collegiate goal pulled the Eagles closer at 2-1. Assists went to senior forward
Rodri Jimenez (team-best third assist) and senior midfielder
Riki Soto (first assist).
