The Ashland University volleyball team has started a season at 6-2 through eight matches for the second time in three years, following a 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-23, 25-19) win over Lake Erie in the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference opener for both teams at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium.
Â
"Getting a G-MAC win is always big and always important," said Ashland head coach
Katie Kuhn. "We were talking about that, of how important it is to have the urgency for every single G-MAC match that you play."
Â
Half of the match's tie scores and most of its' lead changes came in the first-set win by the Storm (4-5, 0-1). Ashland then hit .379 in the second set and .278 in the third, and followed that by holding Lake Erie to a -.073 percentage in the fourth set.
