Marquette Promoted To Associate Head Coach For AU STUNT, Cheer And Dance

Ashland University head STUNT, cheerleading and dance head coach Denise Farnsworth has announced the promotion of Brandy Marquette to associate head coach for all three Eagle programs.

"Brandy has been right here with me for the last eight years coaching at AU, and I honestly can't imagine our program without her," Farnsworth said. "She has such a gift of connecting and mentoring all the ladies of AU cheer, dance and STUNT.  She lives out our core values every day and serves our team and community effortlessly. This promotion is just a reflection of the impact that she's already had on all of us."

Said Marquette, "I want to give a huge thank you to Denise. I am blessed to have her as a mentor and friend. It's been an amazing journey so far and I can't wait to continue building on the culture, growth, and success we've created. We've been together for many years and I'm grateful for all I have learned and will continue to learn from her.

"I also want to thank (Director of Athletics) Al King for this opportunity, as well as the entire athletic department, for their ongoing support of our programs."

Marquette, an Ashland native, is in her eighth year with the Ashland cheer and dance teams, and in her sixth season assisting Eagle STUNT – a program which has made three consecutive Division II postseason appearances and won a nationals game each of the last two years. Ashland STUNT also is the first in collegiate history to win two conference championships.

"I'm incredibly honored to step into this role and look forward to what's ahead for AU cheer, dance and STUNT," said Marquette. "I'm so proud to work alongside such hardworking, kind student-athletes and an amazing coaching staff that make this program truly special."

Said Farnsworth, "Brandy's ability to see the bigger picture while handing our day-to-day details is so valuable. Brandy truly believes in what we're building here at Ashland, and this promotion to associate head coach is a reflection of the leadership and dedication she has consistently shown."
