Finishing its three days in Florida, the Ashland University volleyball team split its two matches at the Flagler Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 13) – losing 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 29-27) to Embry-Riddle, then topping Lenoir-Rhyne by the same count (25-20, 25-22, 26-24).
The Eagles are 5-2 coming back to campus.
In the sweep of the Bears, Ashland's defense kept Lenoir-Rhyne to an .085 hitting percentage. That effort was paced by four Eagles with double-digit digs – junior libero
Abbey Queen (14), sophomore defensive specialist
Kaylee Davis (13), freshman setter
Sydney Weickert (13) and senior defensive specialist
Macy McNamara (11).
Weickert ended the match with 25 assists, as well.
AND AGAINST THE OTHER EAGLES…
- Versus Embry-Riddle, Queen recorded 20 digs, and Weickert added 19 assists.

Ashland will open Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Friday (Sept. 19) at 6 p.m. vs. Lake Erie (4-4) at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium. It will be the Eagles' Care Closet Match.
