As announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Thursday (March 20) morning, Ashland University senior forward
Hayley Smith is a 2024-25 WBCA NCAA Division II honorable mention All-American.
Starting all 36 games this past season, Smith finished the campaign with averages of 11.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 55.4 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line. Her rebounding average was third-best in a season in program history, as were her 391 total rebounds.
Smith is third in the country in total rebounds, and tied for seventh in D-II with 17 double-doubles.
Since 2011-12, Ashland women's basketball has had at least one WBCA All-American in 11 of 14 seasons.
The Eagles finished 32-4 overall and 19-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2024-25, winning both the conference regular-season and tournament titles for a fourth straight year. AU also reached the D-II Sweet 16 for the eighth time in program history.
