Sophomore
Yasmim Tomita turned in a big weekend to close out the first semester, earning a school record and two NCAA "B" cuts at Davenport's Don Kimble Invitational on Friday-Sunday (Nov. 21-23).
In the women's 200-yard backstroke, Tomita broke the previous Eagle standard of 2:03.41, set by
Michaela Godfrey in 2020. She touched the finish line in 2:02.47 to finish in second place, which also was good for an NCAA "B" cut for 2026 nationals.
Tomita also won the women's 100 back with a "B' cut of 56.23 seconds.
Junior
Riley Hunt took the title in both women's diving events – 3-meter (405.50 points) and 1-meter (371.70 points).
Finishing third at Davenport were senior
Colleen Cox in the women's 50 freestyle (24.13 seconds), junior
Hannah Yemec in the women's 200 butterfly (2:11.11), the men's 400 free relay of juniors
Evan Kemp and
Colin Pham, and seniors
Robin Falk and
Nick Girz (3:01.73), and the men's 200 free relay of freshman
Trei Durstine, senior
Andrew Oates, Falk and Girz (1:23.69).
Ashland's men finished third out of seven teams, and the Eagle women fourth out of eight.
