On Thursday (Oct. 30) at Findlay, the Ashland University men's soccer team lost a 4-2 decision to the Oilers in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest.
The Eagles are 4-9-3 overall and 3-8-2 in the conference, while the Oilers are 8-5-2, 7-3-2.
In the 16
th minute, the Oilers got on the board first on a goal by Tom Middleham, assisted by Ryan Dickinson. Findlay's lead moved to 2-0 in the 31
st minute after Middleham assisted Jeroen Van Der Veen on his tally.
The Eagles cut the deficit in half early in the second half, as freshman forward
Hayden Clark put in his first collegiate goal in the 49
th minute. Assists came from freshman forward
Tom Woodward, his team-high fourth of the fall, and senior forward
Alex James, his second of 2025.
Findlay, however, restored its two-goal advantage in the 56
th minute on an unassisted goal by Carson Oberski. The second-half back-and-forth continued in the 66
th minute on a Woodward unassisted goal – his team-leading eighth of the campaign.
The Oilers scored the game's final goal in the 81
st minute, as Oberski potted his second of the contest, unassisted.
WRAPPING IT UP
- Thursday's game featured a combined 43 shots (22 for Ashland, 21 for Findlay).
- Of the contest's 16 corner kicks, 11 were taken by the Eagles.
