A second-half tally lifted the No. 15-ranked Ashland University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win at Ursuline on Saturday (Oct. 25) afternoon, keeping the Eagles alone in first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference table.

Through early afternoon on Saturday, the Eagles' 29 conference points are four ahead of second-place Findlay. AU is 11-2-2 overall and 9-0-2 in the Great Midwest, and is 10-0-2 overall in the last 12 contests.

The Arrows are 4-9-1, 2-8-1.

Senior midfielder
Emily Pate got the Eagles on the board first in the 12
th minute, as she scored an unassisted goal. For Pate, the reigning Great Midwest offensive Athlete of the Week, it's her fifth goal of 2025, and third in the last two weeks.

The Arrows, however, leveled the game at 1 in the 41
st minute when Amia Wilson scored her own unassisted goal.

Ashland regained control in the second half, however. In the 65
th minute, freshman forward
Tessa Blain's fifth tally of the year, unassisted, provided the eventual final margin of victory.

DOMINATING THE STAT SHEET
- Ashland out-shot Ursuline on Saturday afternoon, 25-4 – and the Eagles' shot total tied for their second-most this fall.
- The NCAA Division II leader in corner kicks per game, AU took 13 of Saturday's 15 corner kicks.
- Fifth-year goalkeeper Jaya Daniel made three saves in improving to 10-1-2 on the season.
