Eagle Men’s Tennis Sees Eight Wins To Open Own Invitational

The Ashland University men's tennis team hosted Day 1 of the Ashland University Men's Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 18) at the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex and Brookside Park, and saw eight singles wins throughout the day.
 
Two victories each were earned by junior Doug Cree (7-5, 6-3 over Baldwin Wallace's Carson Craig, and 6-4, 7-6 over Oberlin's Zain Makada) and senior Gabriel Seminario (6-2, 6-3 over Oberlin's Oliver Kninenburg, and 6-0, 6-0 over Oberlin's Rowan Ing).
 
One AU win each were picked up by:
  • Freshman Eduardo Lima – 7-6, 6-4 vs. Oberlin's Seb Naginski.
  • Junior Kaj Salzano – 6-1, 6-7 (10-8) vs. Oberlin's Max Brose.
  • Junior Ryohei Miyake – 6-2, 7-6 vs. Ohio Northern's Aiden Yeager.
  • Senior Reid Opel – 6-2, 6-2 vs. Wooster's Enzo Froes.
NEXT UP
The second and final day of the Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 19), to be played at Oberlin due to impending rain.
