No. 16 AU Women Tie For Second Straight Great Midwest Road Game

The No. 16-ranked Ashland University women's soccer team tied for the second time in less than a week in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play, ending with a 1-1 draw at Northwood on Wednesday (Oct. 15) night.
 
Now at 8-2-2 overall and 6-0-2 in the Great Midwest, the Eagles remain alone in first place in the league – three points ahead of second-place Cedarville.
 
Ashland scored early, needing just 3:56 to go ahead 1-0 on an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Emily Pate, her third of the season.
 
Northwood (6-1-4, 3-1-4), in turn, scored late, knotting the contest in the 90th minute on a tally from Ella Boyd, assisted by Ashtyn Lange.
 
WRAPPING IT UP
  • The Eagles had an 18-10 shots advantage, and a slim 7-6 lead in corner kicks.
  • Fifth-year goalkeeper Jaya Daniel (8-1-2) made three saves on Wednesday night.
  • Ashland is 7-0-2 in its last nine outings.
