Men’s Soccer Takes League Loss At No. 10 Yellow Jackets

The Ashland University men's soccer team lost a 3-0 decision to No. 10-ranked Cedarville on the road on Saturday (Oct. 11) night, moving the Eagles to 3-7-1 overall and 2-6 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2025.
 
In the ninth minute, Cedarville (8-0-3, 6-0-1) took the lead when Michael Catanzarite scored an unassisted goal. The Yellow Jackets extended their advantage to 2-0 in the 62nd minute, as Kale Howell scored on assists from Kirk Wilson and Eddie Merck.
 
Finally, in the 76th minute, Matthew Leo provided Cedarville the final margin of victory on a Jackson Baker helper.
 
WRAPPING IT UP
  • For a third consecutive Eagle loss, the team statistics belie the final score. Ashland has been outscored 8-1 in that span, but has led in both corner kicks (22-2) and shots (38-26) at the same time.
