In the next-to-last regular-season day of the 2024 season, Ashland University's softball team lost twice at Walsh on Friday (April 26), 3-1 and 4-2.

The Eagles are 18-25 overall and 11-13 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with two more regular-season games to play, and the Cavaliers are 19-27, 11-11.

A scoreless tie in Game 1 was broken in the top of the fourth inning, as junior pinch-hitter
Cassidy Shaffer delivered a two-out RBI single. In the bottom of the fifth, the Cavaliers posted three unearned runs with two outs to take the lead of the opener.

Ashland jumped on top once again in Game 2, scoring an unearned run in the top of the second thanks to a Walsh error. The Cavaliers, however, did the same in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 1, then posted three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead in the nightcap.

POST-GAME NUGGETS
- In Game 1, Severns was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. She went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the second game, and now has a six-game hitting streak.
- Junior pitcher Bryn Grabowski (7-6) authored a complete-game four-hitter, allowing no earned runs and one walk and striking out five.
- The second game saw sophomore second baseman Danielle Robbins go 2-for-4 with a steal.
- Sophomore Delaney Lis (3-9) gave up three hits, two runs (one earned) and three walks and struck out one in three innings.
