Women's Tennis Dusty Sloan, Ashland University Director of Athletic Communications

Eagle Women Sweep Ursuline At Home For 12th Win Of Season

On Sunday (April 14) at the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex, Ashland University's women's tennis team earned its 12th win of 2023-24, and its second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, 7-0, over Ursuline.
 
The Eagles improve to 12-8 overall and 2-5 in the league, and the Arrows are 0-8, 0-7.
 
With the victory, Ashland moves into a tie for sixth place in the Great Midwest with Thomas More. The top six teams in the standings qualify for the 2024 Great Midwest Championships, April 25-27 in Owensboro, Ky…
 
Ashland swept the two doubles matches on Sunday, with sophomores Anna Corbel and Alley Stoehr winning 6-0 at No. 1, and junior Claudia Adcock and freshman Evie Pryor winning by the same score at No. 2.
 
In singles, AU wins were turned in by Adcock at No. 1 (6-0, 6-1), sophomore Ana Penteado at No. 2 (6-0, 6-0), sophomore Constanza Arancibia at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0), freshman Brittany Witsken at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), and Pryor at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0).
