Women’s Lacrosse Earns Program-Record 10th Win At Pioneers

A new standard was set by Ashland University's women's lacrosse team on Saturday (April 13), as the Eagles earned their 10th win of the 2024 season, 21-3, at Malone.
 
The Eagles improve to 10-6 overall and 5-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, and maintain their spot in a tie for second place in the league. The Pioneers are 3-11, 1-5.
 
Saturday's game marked the second time in three games Ashland has scored 21 goals – one shy of the program mark. The Eagles have scored at least 19 goals five times this season, and at least 18 goals on six occasions.
 
Sophomore attacker Rachel Crumbacher continued her strong scoring of late, finishing Saturday with five goals and three assists for eight points. Over her last seven games, Crumbacher has posted 45 points on 28 goals and 17 assists.
 
POST-GAME NUGGETS
  • Ashland's deep offensive effort also was paced by sophomore midfielder Ashley Fisher (five goals, two assists for seven points), freshman attacker Ashley Drexler (three goals, four assists for seven points), and fifth-year attacker Cassady Becker (four goals, two assists for six points).
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Maria Mancuso (8-6) played the first half and didn't allow a goal with two saves for the victory.
  • The Eagles out-shot the Pioneers, 41-10, and forced 12 Malone turnovers.
