Women’s Lacrosse Loses At Home To Oilers, Will Begin Great Midwest Tournament As No. 3 Seed

Findlay's women's lacrosse team spoiled Ashland University's Senior Day on Saturday (April 20) afternoon at Ferguson Field, as the Oilers earned the No. 2 seed in the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament following a 15-12 win over the Eagles.

Ashland (10-7 overall, 5-2 Great Midwest) will be the No. 3 seed for the tournament, and will play in a quarterfinal on April 27. More information on the game and the tournament will be released by the league once all the regular-season games are played.

Findlay is 11-6, 6-1.

The first quarter nearly ended with the two teams alternating goals – but Ashland took a 4-3 lead in the closing seconds when freshman attacker Stella Parrish found the back of the net. Findlay, however, scored all seven goals of the second quarter to regain the lead at 10-4.

Trailing 14-7 in the fourth quarter, Ashland scored four goals in a row to get to within three at 14-11. The Oilers scored to temporarily stop the Eagles' momentum, and AU ran out of time.

POST-GAME NUGGETS
  • Sophomore attacker Rachel Crumbacher paced the AU offense with four goals and an assist for five points, fifth-year attacker Cassady Becker added four goals, and sophomore midfielder Ashley Fisher picked up two goals and two assists for four points.
